Important travel information for this summer

We can’t wait to see everyone in just a few weeks!

There is some major construction planned for the route 800 bridge that crosses 70 — the exit for FMC. I’ve copied the information from our website here. There will be posted detours as well, but I’m sure some of you will want to plan ahead.

IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION FOR 2012

From the Ohio Department of Transportation traffic website:

SR 800 will be closed to traffic for 75 days over I-70 at Hendrysburg for a bridge replacement project (122-12). The roadway should be reopened to traffic around mid-August. Northbound SR 800 traffic will be detoured east on I-70 to the CR 100/U.S. 40 Interchange and reverse. Southbound SR 800 traffic will be detoured west on I-70 to the CR 114 (Fairview) Exit and reverse.

What this means for driving to FMC this summer

Coming from the east:

Exit interstate 70 at exit 208 (Belmont/Morristown). Take a left at the exit to go south on county road 149. Take 149 until you are forced to turn; then turn right to take county road 147 west into Barnesville. On the eastern edge of Barnesville, turn left at the Walton Retirement Home and follow this road straight into Olney’s driveway. If you miss this turn, you will know because you will pass the Dollar General on your right and Riesbeck’s on your left; you can then turn left onto Roosevelt road (this turn is after the Wendy’s and Reisbeck’s). Follow Roosevelt Road to the first stop sign. Turn right into the Olney Friends Campus and follow the driveway all the way to the end.

Coming from the west:

You can follow the regular route to get to camp, but you will need to follow the detour when you depart to get back on US route 70.
